Ranklets are a complete family of multiscale rank features characterized by Haar-wavelet style orientation selectivity. Closely related to the Wilcoxon rank sum test, ranklets are computationally efficient and admit an intuitive interpretation in terms of pairwise comparisons of pixel intensity values.
